I once read a quote from @werenotreallystrangers that said:
“We make assumptions because we don’t have the courage to ask questions.”
Sounds harsh doesn’t it? That’s cause we all tend to paint a picture in our heads instead of asking a question. Why? maybe it’s the fear of being perceived as weak, insecure, jealous, afraid, proud… Maybe we are afraid of hurting the feelings of the other person, of complicating things, of being in an uncomfortable or vulnerable position.
But like the quote said, it actually takes courage to ask questions, because it certainly involves being vulnerable. Remember questions are sparked by curiosity and drive connection. And a meaningful connection comes from sharing your truth.
